How Burlcore Mining funds community programmes in Uganda
The Burlcore Foundation serves as the philanthropic and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) arm of Burlcore Mining Company Limited. Where the company operates, the Foundation is responsible for the community work that sits around it, agreed with district leadership and delivered with residents rather than for them.
In practice that means the Foundation runs the clean water, maternal health, early education, worker welfare and artisan livelihoods programmes described across this site, in Busia town, Mawero and the surrounding villages of Busia District, Eastern Region, with governance from Kampala.
