Burlcore Foundation is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including those using assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we do
- Use clear, plain British English wherever possible.
- Provide alternative text for meaningful images.
- Ensure sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
- Support keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators.
- Use semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can move through the page.
- Design responsive layouts that work on mobile, tablet and desktop.
Known limitations
Some documentary videos and archive photography do not yet have full captions or audio description. We are working through our back catalogue and welcome specific requests.
