Burlcore Foundation launches weekly welfare drop-ins in Busia.
The Burlcore Foundation has introduced weekly welfare drop-ins for on-site workers and community members in Busia, focused on immediate health, mental wellbeing and any concerns raised on the day.
The drop-ins take place at an agreed time each week so that people know exactly when a member of the Foundation team will be available. Conversations are informal but purposeful: a chance to raise physical health issues early, talk through stress and mental wellbeing, and flag anything else that needs attention at home or at work.
Anything shared is treated confidentially, aside from clear safeguarding concerns. Where an issue needs follow-up, the Foundation helps connect people to the right support, whether that is a referral to Busia Health Centre IV, a further visit from the team, or practical help.
The programme sits alongside the Foundation's nutrition initiative and its wider work in health, education and livelihoods, forming part of a consistent, everyday duty of care to the people who make its projects possible.
