Burlcore Foundation launches an early education initiative in Busia.
The Burlcore Foundation has launched an early education initiative supporting pupils at a local primary school in Busia, Uganda, with an initial delivery of books and pencils and further learning support planned as the programme develops.
Access to basic learning materials remains a persistent barrier for children in rural Busia. The Foundation's initial delivery of books and pencils, handed over on-site in July 2026, ensures every pupil in the participating classes has the tools needed to fully take part in daily lessons.
The initiative sits alongside the Foundation's wider work in the region and is designed to grow steadily. Follow-on plans include additional learning supplies, classroom improvements and a pathway toward sponsored school fees for families identified in partnership with local teachers and community leaders.
By anchoring the programme in one school first, the Foundation aims to build a durable relationship with pupils, teachers and parents, then extend the model to further schools in the district over time.
